The best 4k monitors available on Amazon for $750 to $1,100 can do a lot for the average gamer, but the average 1080p monitor will only get you so far.
You also need a 4K HDR monitor that supports it, but you might not even need one for gaming.
The good news is that you can pick up a 4.6-inch 1080p IPS LCD monitor from Amazon for less than $400, and it’s a solid option for most gamers.
The bad news is, there’s a lot of competition.
You’re probably looking at a $1.99-2.49 per-inch IPS LCD panel from Asus and Dell, and you’re likely to pay more for an OLED or VA panel.
These panels will do a better job at gaming than a 4-inch panel from Dell, but they also cost more than $600.
You might consider getting a 4,000-nit IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate, but it won’t give you the best gaming experience.
If you’re interested in getting a monitor that will do the job for gaming, the LG 38UM98VU4K is a great option for $550, and the Samsung 38UM9BK4K will give you a better gaming experience at around $400.
If that’s not enough to warrant a $600 purchase, you could consider getting the Dell UHD 38UM4K for around $550.
We’ve tested the LG 34UM88VA and Samsung 38U3WK4KS for gaming on an AMD Radeon R9 290X, but those monitors will do it for gaming more than 1080p gaming.
There are some really good 4K monitors for $350 to $500 on Amazon that are 1080p only, but that’s still not as good as a 4:4:4 monitor.
For gaming, you might be better off with an IPS or VA IPS LCD, but if you’re looking for a good 4k monitor for gaming and need a good price, the Asus 38UM99VU is a good option.
It’s a great screen for $450 on Amazon, and if you need a 1080p screen for gaming it’s worth it.
The LG 38U5BK is another great option if you want a 1440p 4k display for gaming or for watching movies, but at $500 it’s not a great monitor for that.
If your gaming budget is about $1k, then the LG 27UM99VS will be a better option for you if you only want 1080p for gaming but you also need an IPS display for movies.
If the price is right for you, the Vizio 34U3 is a better monitor than the LG 35UM88VU, but we wouldn’t recommend it for a gaming budget.
If there’s one thing you should definitely keep in mind when shopping for a 4 in 1 monitor, it’s that there are a few different options for different types of games.
If 1080p and 4K are both your gaming requirements, you can always get a 1080P monitor for the same price as a 1080/4K monitor, and then you can get a 4×4 or 4×2 4k resolution monitor for around the same cost.
If not, you’ll likely be better served by a 1440P or 4K screen, but for gaming you’ll be better able to get a 1440/4:2 screen.
If it’s 1080p or 4k, but not both, then a 4×4 monitor is a much better choice.
