The head of the House GOP leadership slammed Kavanaugh’s nomination, called for a confirmation vote and accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) of “hypocrisy” over Kavanaugh’s record.
“We have a long way to go,” House Speaker Paul Ryan said Wednesday on “Fox News Sunday.”
“I’m tired of hearing about the lies and the hypocrisy.”
Ryan, who is up for re-election in 2020, has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump.
“The president is a liar,” Ryan said on CNN last week.
“I will not be voting for the next nominee for the United States Senate.
The Senate should not be used to confirm nominees.
They should be used for the rule of law and the Constitution.
I will not vote for this nominee.”
